Creating and managing customers is one of the most important aspects of any business. In Odoo 15, the Contacts module makes this process easier, helping you organize and keep your customer database up to date. In this article, you will learn how to quickly and easily create a new customer in the Contacts module, so you can improve the management of your business relationships and keep all the information you need within reach.
In this example, we will create an individual customer, such as a user, beneficiary, client or consumer.
Open the "Contacts" module
When you enter, you can view all the customers you have created. In this example, no users have been created yet.
Create the contact by clicking "CREATE" in the upper-left corner
The system will display a form for creating the customer with the following details.
1. Specify whether the contact is a natural person (User) or a legal entity (Company). In this case, select Individual.
2. Enter the full name, including surnames if required, and the company where they work if applicable.
3. Enter basic address information, such as street, street 2 (cross street or diagonal street), building, apartment, city, state and ZIP code. To check the ZIP code, click here.
4. Make sure to add the identification number and type.
5. Job position, landline and mobile phone number.
6. Make sure to enter an email address.
7. Website, title and company, if applicable.
8. Additional contact information (Referrals)
9. Photo
Once you have entered all these details, save the user in your database.
Please note that none of the fields are required, but the more complete the record, the better.
This example shows how the form looks with all the details entered.
Returning to the Contacts view lets you see all the customers and/or vendors you have added to the database.
